On July 19 and 20, 2019, FMG Saskatoon Dragon-boat Festival was held on the Saskatchewan River. More than 300 participants from 25 teams joined in the Dragon-boat Race. The Lion and Dragon Dance Group of the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan was invited to perform lion dance at 10:00, 11:00, and 12:00 on July 19 respectively at Rotary Park.
All the audience, especially the children were amazed by the USask CI lion dance performers. Many of them followed the lion parade and took pictures with the lions. Both the organizers and the audience greatly appreciated the lion dance performance and expressed strong wish to have the CI join in the FMG Saskatoon Dragon-boat Festival again in the coming year.
